The Government has a requirement for a complete ship-set of Lithium Ion Polymer pressure compensated battery cells (490 cells) plus associated hardware, interconnects, harnesses, pressure housings, pressure compensating system, electronics, and battery management software.     There will be an option for engineering services with a minimum of 500 hours and a maximum of 10,000 hours.     There will be a requirement for a number of spare cells.       A fixed-price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract will be awarded.     A minimum of one ship-set battery and a maximum of four may be procured. The Navy intends to solicit and negotiate this contract on a sole-source basis to Alliant Power Sources Center, Horsham, PA based on FAR 6.302-1, only one source capable of meeting the Government?s requirements.     See numbered note 22.     This procurement will not be processed as a commerci al acquisition, therefore number note 26 applies.     Our command no longer issues solicitation or amendments in paper form.     Instead, they may be accessed via our web site.     Inquiries may be submitted to Mr. Roger Brett, Code 1164ER, telephone 812-854-5269, fax 812-854-5666.
